I know I always will remember where I was when I found out. I was sitting in junior theology class at Jesuit College Preparatory when my teacher broke the news to us. It was an eerie day at school as we just gathered in class rooms and cafeterias an

d watched the news on TV.

We are all so very fortunate to live in a country where we are free to be who we want to be and enjoy that activities we love with our

friends and family. We are truly blessed to have the opportunity to share our love of sports and with our readers who share that interest and we wanted to take a moment out to thank the men and women who made this all possible.

“On this day, we mark the eleventh anniversary of the terror attacks that claimed thousands of lives and truly changed New York and our nation forever. On this day, we honor the memories and the lives of those who were killed and the families who will never forget them. We also honor the first responders who bravely put themselves in harm’s way – many of whom never returned home.” – Governor Andrew M. Cuomo

For the brave police officers and firemen who were killed trying to rescue the innocent victims of those attacks, we thank you. You ran into buildings to save strangers and are the true definition of heroes. For the soldiers who fight over sees to protect our freedoms, we thank you.

“No matter how many years pass, no matter how many times we gather on this hallowed ground, know this: you will never be alone. Your loved ones will never be forgotten. This day reminds us that even the darkest day gives way to a brighter dawn.” -President Barack Obama

But most importantly we want to thank those men and women who died in the attacks on 9/11. We will never forget that day, and we will never forget you. We will remember.

“Eleven years ago today, from Capitol Hill, I could see the smoke rising from the fires burning in the Pentagon. For me, this is a day to remember those who perished on that day of terror, including the first responders. It is also a day to pay tribute to all those who have worked quietly and tirelessly both on the home front and abroad

to prevent a repetition of such terrible events. And it is a day to give honor to those in our military who have sacrificed so much, including their lives, for the same end.” -GOP Vice Presidential Nominee Paul Ryan

“America will never forget those who perished. America will never stop caring for the loved ones they left behind. Today we again extend our most profound gratitude to our brave troops who have gone into battle, some never to return, so that we may live in peace. On this most somber day, those who would attack us should know that we are united, one nation under God, in our determination to stop them and to stand tall for peace and freedom at home and across the world.” -GOP Presidential Nominee Mitt Romney
