Last Night:
The Computer called it. Pretty much as advertised, with the Rangers falling behind 6-0, then 7-1, then coming back, just to fall behind in the 10th by 3 runs, and win in the bottom of 10 with an error, a wal
k, 3 base hits and a Homerun to finish the comeback 11-10 victory starring Elvis Andrus. Almost exactly as the playbook “how to win a baseball bet” was played out.
Today’s Game is a 7:05 PM CST Start
Los Angeles Angels 55-45 (L1) +109 @ Texas 58-41 (W1) -119 – Over/Under 10.5 Runs
LAA P C.J Wilson (9-7, 2.88 ERA) has been showing signs that maybe Texas was right to let him go, as he was 0-3 in 6 starts in July. With that said, other than one shelling, he had no run supporthas he allowed 3 runs or less in 4 of 5 games, and just 3 home runs. It will be a big spot for him tonight to play well @ the Ballpark.
Tex P Ryan Dempster (5-5, 2.25 ERA) has been one of the few Cubbie hopefuls, pitching incredible over a 6 start stretch Starting in early June, pitching 33 straight innings without a run. Howrever his last 2 starts, he’s lost on the road giving up a whopping 7 runs (4, 3), running this last 7 starts to a whole 1 point something era… Now the 35 year old will attempt to solve the AL…
Josh Hamilton Watch:
Josh was the only one of the Ranger Bunch to not make it to base in 5 @ bats. If you haven’t already, check out Dyce’s take on Josh Hamilton’s possible relapse.
We think he gets a lone hit to shut the people up today, but the way he is playing he will likely strikeout at least once. Clearly he’s not worth benching in your fantasy league, but don’t expect much more than a solid single.
The Computer says:
TEXAS 5.4 ANGELS 4.8
-Over 85% on Texas and over 50% on the Under
- Texas is 31-29 -12.1 units after a win this season. So low value play on Texas (we should probably pass on all of it today).
*Ryan Dempster (Texas starter) is 24-6 (+2.3 rpg, +16.25 units, +42% roi) career as a -145 or cheaper home favorite.
- The over is 34-19 +14.8 units for the Angels as road dogs since 2011
*The under is 31-14 +14.4 units for the Angels after a loss this season.
Lots of conflicts today, but if you want to put some beer money on it, the Dempster angle is probably the best of the day. Very little edge on the total.
The Plays
0.5 Unit ($5.85 to return $10.85)
