Mavs have clinched their 12th consecutive playoff berth last night. After beating the Houston Rockets Monday night, the Rockets lost last night to New Orleans the following night.

The Dallas Mavericks will be the first NBA team to defend its title on the road since the 2007 Miami Heat.

The Dallas Mavericks are currently in the 6th seed, a 0.5 game ahead of Denver. This pairing has them facing the Los Angeles Lakers currently, though the Clippers could still finish in the 3rd spot. So the Mavericks can either rest their players in their remaining games against Golden State, Chicago and Atlanta which will likely put them in the 7th seed. If they went that route they’d face either San Antonio Spurs in the first round or the the Oklahoma City Thunder.

I am a fan of the Lakers option, maybe you get lucky and the Clippers climb into the 3rd spot. San Antonio has been dominant and is hot, Oklahoma City has been dominant. And even though the Lakers have been hot as of late, even with Kobe Bryant out, I’d still take my chances there.

But now that my tickets are locked in, I need sign ideas for the playoffs. Here is a picture of the sign I took to the Mavs game in Miami against the Heat.
